
2013 Greensboro Race Series
Looking to participate in a race? Pick a race in the Greensboro Race Series and you can’t go wrong. These races represent a collection of the best events in the Triad.
Want to see the series standings? Just click the button below. We will update them after each race. Contact us for any corrections. We try and combine all your times for multiple races (under your name) but we may (and will) miss some. So if you see your name listed twice, simply email us and we will correct it.
Race 1 – 03/24 – Old Town Beerun 5 Mile
A favorite for over 10 years. This race always get’s a big crowd. Is it the last start time? Is it the 5 mile distance? Is it the post race food and band? No… it’s the BEER! The Beerun has added some great new features for 2011 including chip timing. Put this one on your schedule for sure.

Race 2 – 04/27 – Greensboro Day School Bengal Dash
A great new addition to the 2013 series. The Bengal Dash is a wonderful event hosted at the Greensboro Day School. The certified course finishes right on the Day School Track and great post racec activities make this a wonderful event.

Race 3 – 06/08 – Blue Points 5K on the Runway at PTI
This race is only entering it’s fourth year and will draw 1000 runners. We are excited that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is the presenting sponsor. Be sure to put this event on your schedule!
Race 4 – 06/29 – Fun Fourth Freedom Run 10k
One of the best and oldest races in Greensboro. Always a competitive field push the tempo as temperatures rise for this 10k classic. You can run or walk in honor of our dedicated Military Personnel & Veterans. Deck yourself out in a patriotic costume and show off your American spirit!

Race 5 – 08/10 – Run4Roo 4 miles
The Bryan YMCA Run 4 Roo is a 4 mile run in support of our Financial Assistance program at the Bryan YMCA YMCA. This program provides a way for those who could not normally afford the Y a way to be apart of our community at a price that works for them.
The race is named in honor of YMCA member Jeff ‘Roo’ Hedrick a member who recently lost his long battle with cancer.
The 4 mile run with start and end at the Brayn YMCA in downtown Greensboro.

Race 6 – 07/04 – Kernersville Rotary Club 5k
One of the fastest courses in the triad. Run along the parade route just before the floats and bands take the stage. Bring the family and stick around for the festivities. This is always a don’t miss event.
Race 7 – 09/07 – Run 4 The Greenway 8k
A great fairly new event in Greensboro. We love this race because it’s a 8k (don’t see many of these) and it has beer and music post race. This is a don’t miss race.

What: Downtown Greenway Detour Route, 5.25 miles.

Race 8 – 09/14 – Retro Run 5k
One of our favorite races. Beer and disco… what could be better? …this race has it all. The only night race in the series. Bring your boogie shoes to the 2013 Retro Run!

Race 9 – 10/12 – Cannonball Run Half Marathon and 5k
Hard to believe this race is already 10 years old. The longest race in the series. You can get series points at either the 5k or earn double points for the half marathon.

Race 10 – 10/19 – Hitt The Brixx 5k/10k
This race is sure to be a hit. Perfect running weather, a great cause, 5k and 10k distances… a costume contest and Brixx pizza and beer… what more could you ask for. Be sure to add this race to your calendar.

Race 11 – 11/09 – Free to Breathe 5k
This race had over 1000 participants in 2011 and we are expecting another big turnout. With the growing crowd the race moved to New Bridge Stadium in 2011 and has a fast, flat course. A great race for a great cause!

Race 12 – 11/28 – Greensboro Gobbler 5k
To close out the Greensboro Race Series is the largest race in the series. 2012 will be the 11th Greensboro Gobbler and is always a crowd favorite.
